Saint Lucia climate - any danger?
For Saint Lucia climate there is always a danger of a hurricane bearing down on the Island. The hurricane tracks are far of Saint Lucia but winds can take them anywhere.
Although Saint Lucia is better adapted to dealing with hurricanes because its people have become used to them and are more aware of their impact. And there are places of substantial elevation.
As part of risk assessment, a computer programme has been devised to “fast forward” time and look at the likelihood of hurricanes of various strengths following historical tracks across the globe.
So tourism is full protected and you can safetly plan your trip. |

Saint Lucia climate - a reason to plan your trip now
St. Lucia has a tropical, humid climate moderated by northeast trade winds that allow for pleasant year-round conditions. December-May is the driest and coolest time, with day temperatures in the 70s-80s F/23-32 C and night temperatures in the 60s-70s F/15-27 C. During the hottest time of year (June-August), daytime temperatures can reach the 90s F/32-37 C. The rainy season is June-November, but don't expect a constant downpour. Rather, there are numerous short but incredibly intense showers. Trade winds provide breezes year-round, regardless of the season. For these tropical climes, lightweight, loose clothing is what you should pack, preferably in comfortable cotton. Casual wear is acceptable, although some hotels and restaurants encourage guests to dress for dinner. It's advisable to bring along something with long sleeves--a lightweight jacket or cardigan--for air-conditioned interiors or cooler evenings. Prepare for a tropical rainstorm by packing some waterproof protection. Besides sandals, a comfortable pair or sturdy, low-heeled walking shoes is indispensable for excursions. And it wouldn't be amiss to pack a pair of bathing shoes. Beachwear should not be worn in towns.
